Influence of Language Learning Strategies on Willingness to Communicate in Chinese Among Students With High and Low Anxiety

Abstract: With the global expansion of China's economy, Chinese has established itself as a major language. Since then, higher education students' desire to learn increased dramatically. However, strategies for foreign language learning and anxiety both play key role in ability communicate Chinese. Thus, purpose this study is examine influence (LLS), particularly those associated with different levels anxiety, on willingness (WTC) Using quantitative research design, questionnaire assessing WTC, LLS speaking scale was distributed 130 students enrolled Mandarin course at MARA professional college Eastern region peninsular Malaysia. The gathered data from 66 low- 64 high-anxiety using scale. findings demonstrated significant correlation between WTC among groups students. Multiple regression analysis used determine best predictors WTC. It discovered that indirect were low-level whereas direct good high-level anxiety. This reveals order improve communicate, educators must emphasise variety strategies, depending level their students.
